All my life I’ve never been into sports, fitness or exercise. As an avid skier, going to the gym was just a way to prepare for my yearly overseas ski trips, but most of the year I didn’t exercise regularly. As I got older, I became seriously unfit, overweight and my diet was terrible.
After a two month break from any form of exercise, I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to sign up for last year’s winter fitness challenge run by Personal Trainer Edwin John (link to profile). It went for 6 weeks and I didn’t really know what to expect having never worked with Edwin or completed any fitness challenge before. I figured it might help get me into some sort of gym routine, and anything else would be a bonus.
With Edwin’s guidance and support, I changed my diet entirely moving away from eating out and take away most nights to meal prepping six days a week! He got me to enjoy exercise for the first time in my life. I ended up winning the fitness challenge and have kept up my changed lifestyle ever since. I keep to my diet by meal prepping six days a week, and I work out in the gym 5-6 days a week.
Currently I’m doing two PT sessions with Edwin and a mixture of Spin and FiT45 classes every week. In the 18 months since the fitness challenge I’ve lost over 30kg with some more still to go! I’m more fit than I have ever been in my life.
