The Body Retreat @ Re-Creation Malvern

Our beautiful Body Retreat studio is home to our Mind Body and Dance Fitness programs including yoga, Pilates, Zumba and BaiLa Dance program. The Body Retreat fitted with specialist dance flooring, radiant heat yoga panels, ballet barres, sound system, and special lighting.

We believe yoga, Pilates and dance fitness is for everybody and everyone – you don’t have to be a nimble 20 something, a yogi, or a professional dancer to enjoy our classes (but you’re more than welcome if you are!). We recommend you schedule a regular class as part of a balanced health and fitness regime.

Our Classes

We offer a range of fitness classes that are suitable for all experience and fitness levels led by some of Melbourne’s best (and friendliest!) instructors. Below are the main categories of classes we offer. Not sure what class is for you, then book in at reception for a free consultation.

Yoga

Yoga trains the mind and body through various physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. We offer a range of styles including Hatha, Vinyasa Power Flow, Yin and our signature B.E.N Yoga (fusion).

Pilates

Pilates is a conditioning class centred on releasing strain and strengthening core muscles – incorporated with correct breathing techniques. We offer a few variations to keep it interesting including Mat Pilates, Pilates Barre Fusion, Power Pilates and Warm Pilates.

Dance

Our dance fitness classes including Zumba and BaiLa combine South American dancing styles with the latest fitness theories to deliver a fun total body work out and mental release like no other.

Heated Yoga

We use safe and healthy infra-red radiant heat panels to create an uplifting warmth that penetrates into your body without heating the outside air like traditional heating systems.

Benefits include elimination of toxins, increased blood circulation, greater relaxation of muscles and joints, less soreness, and better overall sense of wellbeing.

We offer a range of versions including hot (30 degrees) and heated (27 degrees). These classes generally run from April to October.

FAQs

Wear comfortable exercise clothes and suitable footwear. Bring a towel and water. We supply yoga mats and props but you’re welcome to bring your own.

The general rule is once for maintenance, twice for improvement, three times for transformation. We recommend you consider at least once a week as part of balanced health & fitness regime.

Please let your instructor know and they can help determine whether the class is suitable for you and if so can help tailor moves for you. Heated yoga is not suitable if you’re pregnant.

While our classes are designed for all abilities we occasionally schedule special beginners or advanced classes. Keep an eye on the timetable.

If you’re interested in exploring yoga further, we can arrange for private tuition with one of our great instructors. Fees vary from instructor – contact reception to arrange.
